Can’t delete files off SD card? How to fix

I’ve used a 32G SD card for several years with no problem. This morning I tried to delete some folders from it and found that there was not “Move to Trash” selection in the menu. Pulled it out, checked the “lock” slider which was set to “unlocked.” Of course I tried it on “locked” but that did not help .

It turns out that this is a problem with the card reader not seeing the lock correctly. If you move the lock to about half-way between locked and unlocked, for some reason it starts reading it as “unlocked”. No need to reformat the card or repair it.

Be sure to move it fully back to “unlocked” when putting it back in the camera.
